They always keep things fresh and new, and Coldplay debuted their new single “Charlie Brown” on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night (August 3).

The “Fix You” rockers were introduced by Kimmel from the UCLA gig they were playing to benefit the Grammy Foundation.

Chris Martin sang, "I stole a key/ And took a car downtown where the lost boys meet/ Took a car downtown and took what they offered me," and "In my scarecrow dreams/ When they smashed into smithereens/ Be a bright red rose come burst to concrete/ Be a cartoon heart."

Kimmel noted that Coldplay was the first band he ever had on his show back in the day. When Jimmy asked Chris what they’ve been up to since then, he replied, "Will [Champion] worked at FedEx and the rest of us run a pet shop."
