"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"
Offering up an ever-so-dark look at the forthcoming adaption, Empire magazine has released three all-new snapshots straight from the set of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo."
Preparing fans for the gritty essence of the R-rated horror thriller flick, the new photos depict Lisbeth ( Rooney Mara) getting up close and personal with an unknown man, Mikael Blomkvist ( Daniel Craig) looking puzzled in a creepy smoke-filled room, and lastly, another picture of Mikael, this time joined by Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer).
Echoing the rather dismal visual evidence, director David Fincher told the mag, “We want to find a place where you can talk about something and be really, really hard-hitting—like the material it’s based on—and yet we also want to make it a moviegoing experience."
Making its theatrical debut December 21, 2011, the film also stars Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright and Joely Richardson.
