It was definitely one of the highlights of the gig, and Pitbull and Ne-Yo rocked the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards audience last night (August 28).

The Cuban-American rapper continued his successful year with a not-soon-to-be-forgotten rendition of his first #1 Billboard Hot 100 single “Give Me Everything.”

And he wasn’t alone- Pitbull was backed up by Ne-Yo as well as singer/songwriter/model Nayer and a bunch of beautiful background dancers.

Prior to the big moment, Ne-Yo told press, "This is my first time performing at the VMAs, so this is going to be big."

He’s always up for a good time, and last night (August 28) Lil Wayne was on fire at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The “Mrs. Officer” rapper took the Nokia Theatre stage and sang an auto-tune heavy version of his hit “How to Love.”

From there, he busted out into a heavy-metal flavored performance of “John,” showing his impressive range as an artist.

Wayne’s musical director Gil Smith told press, "You know, he always comes different: One day he's a rock star, one day he's a skater; he's singing R&B. I think we can expect a little bit of everything in this performance."

It was an evening of fabulous performances, memorable moments, and tons of trophies, and the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards also included a killer debut video from Nicki Minaj and Rihanna.

The “Pink Friday” rapper and the “Russian Roulette” songstress joined forces for the brand-spanking-new “Fly” music video, and it’s quite the wild ride.

According to MTV, “The video plays out like some post-apocalyptic fashion magazine photo shoot in which Nicki Minaj and Rihanna stand near a plane wreck in couture outfits, mugging for the camera.”

“Fly” was actually filmed way back in January and was directed by Nicki’s “Super Bass” helmsman Sanaa Hamri.

It was one of the music industry’s biggest nights, and Jessie J wasn’t about to let her foot injury keep her home from the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

The British songstress broke her foot when she fell off of a stage almost 3 months ago, so she had to get creative for her appearance on the big show.

She told the audience, “I got the offer to come here and I thought, 'You know what, I'm not gonna sit at home feeling sorry for myself.’”

Prior to her arrival in the US, Jessie told press, “I’ve watched the VMAs every single year and always wished I could be there. So I’m going to be singing a lot and people seeing me and every single person I’ve ever looked up to in the music industry is going to be in the same room at once. Broken foot or not, I’m still going to wild out and do my thing.”

When asked about the single, Britney teased, “I don’t know if I”m at liberty to tell... But I will anyways. It’s ‘Criminal.’”
