Among the esteemed individuals lined up to receive the prestigious honor, Salma Hayek will be adding the title of "Knight" to her accolades this coming weekend.
The 45-year-old Mexican actress has been chosen to receive the Légion d'Honneur on Sunday (January 8), with the announcement having been made during the unveiling of French President Nicolas Sarkozy's official New Year's list.
As for the ceremony, Miss Hayek will undergo a Presidential medal pinning followed by an Élysées Palace induction taking place sometime within the following two months.
The Légion d'Honneur was founded in 1802 by French military and political leader Napoleon Bonaparte while being doted upon "military personnel and civilians for service to France."
