Lindsay Lohan Goes to Jail for 4.5 Hours

The world waited on pins and needles. TMZ broadcast the entire thing live online. Then, the verdict came in: guilty. Lindsay Lohan received a 30-day sentence from an LA judge after violating the terms of her probation. But due to prison overcrowding, the Sheriff's Department initially said the troubled star would only serve six days.

Only problem: she didn't spend six days behind bars. Hell, she didn't even stay over for one night. No, the blonde actress with a rap sheet longer than Shaun White's hair ended up behind bars for a miniscule 4.5 hours. For the record that's merely 35 more minutes than it would take you to watch the extended cut of Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

As TMZ reported, the actress first showed up at the Century Regional Detention Facility in the beautiful city of Lynwood, California -- a town world renown for being home to Weird Al Yankovic. Lohan checked into jail at 8:48 p.m. on November 6, only to find herself released at around 1:30 in the morning.

But if you were left fuming over the fact that a multiple offender like her got off so easy, we suggest you relax, take a deep breath, and find your happy place. There are plenty of more suitable avenues to maneuver your anger mobile down.

If you must focus your fury somewhere, may we suggest:

  • the person responsible for placing those impossibly hard to remove protective stickers on CDs.
  • the waiter who kept your change thinking it was a tip after you gave him $20 for an $11 burrito.
  • the first city to realize it could get away with charging $400 in towing fees.
  • the ticket maid who cited you for blocking access to your own driveway.
  • Nancy Grace
Of course, given LiLo's less than stellar track record, the odds are high she'll end up back in the slammer sooner than later. So maybe we're just getting ahead of ourselves.
