Stars Team Up for TeenNick Halo Awards

Recognizing activist teens who are hard at work trying to make the world a little bit better, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel and David Beckham have been chosen to honor these heroes at this year’s TeenNick Halo Awards.

HALO stands for “Helping and Leading Others” and connects teens with celebrities who share similar views on the same causes.

Ms Swift will team up with 19-year-old James O'Dwyer, founder of the Magnolia Disaster Relief, a program that helps to offer funds to rural areas hit by tornadoes.

Emily-Anne Rigal, 17, will partner with Lady Gaga to work toward putting a halt on bullying. Rigal started the WeStopHate.org website, in hopes to raise awaresness.

Meanwhile Jessica Biel is paired with Shanoah Washington, an 18-year-old who created the Sista2Sista program, whose main focus is to motivate young women.

And finally, David Beckham will be paired with Kyle Weiss, 18, who started the organization FUNDaFIELD, an organization that assists in building soccer fields in Africa.

The show will be hosted by Nick Cannon and will take place at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on October 26. The broadcast will air on November 6 on Nick at Nite, and again on November 7 on TeenNick.
